STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe:

  1. The infallible, verbal inspiration of the Bible (II Tim. 3:16-17). We also hold to the fact that God has providentially preserved his word in the Hebrew Masoretic Text and the Greek Textus Receptus. We would consider any resultant translation from these texts, in any language, to be God’s preserved word in that language. For English speaking people, the Authorized Version (KJV) is God’s preserved word, while the Reina Valera (1909, 1960) is God’s preserved word for the Spanish speaking people.

  1. The vicarious sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Heb. 2:9

  2. That salvation is wholly by grace through faith in Christ, Eph. 2:8, and that all believers are preserved eternally. I Peter 1:15, John 10:27-30.
  3. The bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, and the bodily resurrection of His saints, I Cor.15; the second coming of Jesus Christ, personally and bodily, to set up His Kingdom on earth and to rule upon the earth one thousand years; Acts 1:11, Rev. 20:4.
  1. The Bible doctrine of eternal punishment of the finally impenitent. Matt. 25:46

  2. A Scriptural church is a visible assembly of baptized believers, covenanted together under the New Testament for the purposes of carrying out the Great Commission, with an unbroken history from the personal ministry of Jesus on earth to this present day.

  3. What true Baptists have always believed, that the Great Commission was given to the churches only, that in kingdom activities the church is the only unit in associated work.

  4. That each church should exercise equal authority; and that the churches should meet their responsibilities according to their several abilities.

  5. All cooperating bodies, such as associations, conventions, boards, committees, etc, are and properly should be servants of the churches. Matt. 20:25-28.

  6. Scriptural Baptism is immersion of believers, administered by a New Testament church; the Lord’s Supper is a memorial ordinance, restricted to the faithful church members.

  7. That the gift of tongues fulfilled its purpose in the age of the apostles and the infant New Testament Church. This gift was “done away with” when the New Testament Scriptures were completed. 1 Cor. 13:8-13.
