SP 211-212 Spanish I & II - Development of basic skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and   grammar.  Introduction to understanding and using expressions common in everyday conversation and ministry.      3 Credit Hours Each Semester

 

History

HI 101, 102 HISTORY OF CIVILIZATION - A  survey of  ancient,  medieval, and modern   history, from the advent of written records to the present.  Emphasis on the Western World, with appropriate coverage of non-Western cultures, blacks, and women’s studies.  An integrated study of political, economic, social, religious, intellectual, and aesthetic aspects of human culture in historical context. (101, beginning to A.D. 1650; 102, A.D. 1650 to present).        3 Credit Hours Each Semester

HI 340 HISTORY OF THE ENGLISH BIBLE - A survey of the English translations of the Bible including the Wycliffe, Tyndale, Great, and Geneva Bibles as well as the Authorized Version.  Modern-day translations will be examined as well.       3 Credit Hours

HI 344 BAPTIST HISTORY -  A   survey   of   our   Baptist   heritage   studying  New Testament Baptists  from  the Apostolic  Age  to  the present, with emphasis on organization, doctrine, and contribution to contemporary society.   3 Credit Hours

Mathematics

MA 100 REMEDIAL MATHEMATICS - Study of basic mathematics.  Designed to improve the  general math skills of entering students.

MA 101-102 MATHEMATICS  FOR  ELEMENTARY  TEACHERS I & II -  A  study  of   mathematic properties, processes, and symbols.  Includes sets, relation, numeration systems, number theory, real number system and problem solving and their application in elementary classrooms.    3 Credit Hours Each Semester  

Missions

MI 101 BIBLICAL BASIS FOR MISSIONS - An study of the biblical basis for missions  including the call, qualifications, preparation of missionary candidates, the relation   of the pastor to missions, and the  role of the  local NT Baptist church in missions.       3 Credit Hours

MI 301 HISTORY OF MISSIONS - After surveying the growth of the apostolic church through Paul’s journeys, missionary progress is traced up to the present.               3 Credit Hours

MI 302 COMPARATIVE RELIGIONS/CULTS - A comparative study of the major non-Christian  religious  systems  with  an  analysis   of  basic   doctrinal  and  philosophical teachings.  An introduction to the false teachings of and the  scriptural arguments against the major cults of the world.       3 Credit Hours

MI 310 PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES OF MISSIONS  - The principles of missionary service and the practical aspects of life and work on the field are studied.  This course deals with such matters as relationships to other missionaries,  to nationals and to the national church, plus various types of missionary endeavors.    3 Credit Hours

MI 410 MISSIONARY BIOGRAPHIES - The lives of past missionaries are studied in an effort to learn from their experiences.  This course may be taken as an  independent  research class.     3 Credit Hours

New Testament

NT 201 MATTHEW - A Christ-centered redemptive approach to Matthew’s Gospel which depicts the Lord Jesus Christ as the Despised, Rejected, Saviour King.  The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other books in the Gospels, and its relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined     3 Credit Hours

NT 202 MARK - A Christ-centered redemptive approach to Mark’s Gospel as it reveals the amazing servanthood in the life of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other books in the Gospels, and its relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.  3 Credit Hours

NT 203 LUKE - A Christ-centered redemptive approach to Luke’s Gospel as it reveals the Lord Jesus Christ as the son of man our kinsman-redeemer.  The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other books in the Gospels, and its relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.   3 Credit Hours

NT 204 JOHN - A Christ-centered redemptive approach to John’s Gospel as it reveals that the Lord Jesus Christ is God.  The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other books in the Gospels, and its relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.      3 Credit Hours                                                   

NT 206  ACTS OF THE APOSTLES - The  works  of  the  Holy  Spirit through the lives of the Apostles  are studied  in  the  context  that Acts provides the detailed  proclamation of redemption. The foundational principles of the work of the local NT Baptist Church are emphasized.                 3 Credit Hours

NT 208 ROMANS - A close look at the message of complete salvation through the Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ as it is presented in this NT book.  The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other Epistles, and its relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.   3 Credit Hours

NT 209 CORINTHIAN EPISTLES - An examination of the message of full victory over every Enemy attack on the believer and on the local assembly through the Lordship of Jesus Christ in 1st Corinthians as well as the All-sufficiency of Christ as Lord and Saviour in 2nd Corinthians.  The importance of the placement of the books in the cannon of Scripture, their relationship to the other Epistles, and their relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.          3 Credit Hours

NT 301 HEBREWS - A consideration of how the book of Hebrews presents the AMediated Life@ test of the Reality of the Redemptive Experience.  The importance of the placement of the book in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other Epistles, and its relationship to both the Old and New Testament is also examined.     3 Credit Hours

NT 401 REVELATION - A consideration of the precious revelation of Jesus Christ as the Reigning Lamb bringing about the Consummation of Redemption in the book of Revelation.  The importance of the placement of the books in the cannon of Scripture, its relationship to the other books in both the Old and New Testament is also examined.  3 Credit Hours
